“mair licht” is the answer to the question, “whit de ye need maist, laddie” in the initiation litany of the brotherhood of horsemanry. An association of farm horsemen (particularly strong in the North East of Scotland between the days of the hegemony of the draught ox and the hegemony of the diesel engine).
